The BioSUB Project
What do you get when you cross an underwater habitat, a freshwater lake, some algae and a mad scientist? The BioSUB Project!
Having won the Australian Geographic 'Live Your Dream' Wildest Adventure Competition for its exciting mix of education, science and adventure, The BioSUB Project saw Australian marine scientist and diver Lloyd Godson survive in the world’s first attempt of a self-sufficient, self-sustaining underwater habitat.
In April 2007, the Australian aquanaut and marine scientist successfully completed The BioSUB Project for which he received the coveted 2007 Australian Geographic Adventurer of the Year award. In this crazy scientific experiment, Lloyd lived for 12 days in the world's first underwater habitat incorporating a plant-based life support system. read more...

Life Amphibious
Life Amphibious was the dramatic attempt of Lloyd Godson, a visionary young adventurer and marine scientist, to 'swim' 15 nautical miles of the Ionian Sea off Greece in a non-propeller human-powered submarine.
The motivation behind this project was to get young people excited about science and engineering. Lloyd wanted to inspire public environmental awareness by using technological innovation in a stimulating and adventurous way, by echoing the mythical journeys of Homer's Odysseus and Julius Verne's Captain Nemo. Lloyd also wanted to provide university students with an educational experience that translated their theoretical knowledge into reality. read more...

LEGOLAND® ATLANTIS by SEA LIFE
1 man, 4 metres underwater for two weeks and within 4 square metres: To launch the LEGOLAND Year of Records 2010, the Australian scientist and adventurer Lloyd Godson went down into the aquarium at LEGOLAND ATLANTIS by SEA LIFE in a tiny little underwater house on 30 March. It was a globally unique experiment.
336 hours later he surfaced again, having achieved a new Guinness World Record™. With his cycling pedals he generated 2,502 watt hours of electricity. This is the largest amount of electric power that has ever been produced underwater in this way.
He lived in his 2.5 x 1.6 m domicile for a total of 14 days, watched by LEGOLAND visitors and 1,300 tropical fish. Linked to the outside world by telephone and the internet, he was asked lots of questions by numerous visitors. read more...
